Carbon negative coffee

This is our last lot from Nancy Hernandez, who created our other coffee Jazmin. When we spoke with her about naming it, she wasn’t sure – but we thought a coffee that we loved this much should be named after the person who made it.

The catuai cultivar is a cross between mundo novo and yellow caturra. It originated in Brazil as far back as the 1940s and eventually made its way to Central America, via Guatemala, in the 1970s. Catuai is known for producing a very sweet and balanced coffee.

The Jazmin farm was built in 2008 by Nancy. It was always her dream to follow in the footsteps of her parents and grandparents and own a farm. She spent years learning about processing and cultivation on her parents’ farm, until her uncle offered her the opportunity to transform what was some disused land into a coffee farm. That was how Jazmin was born. /p>
