Carbon negative coffee


For this year’s Christmas Coffee, we wanted to share something which expresses one of our most strongly held beliefs: that the future of coffee is carbon free and in balance with the planet. With that in mind, we are pleased that this coffee is not only certified carbon neutral roasted, but that this lot from Enrique Navarro Carvajal’s farm, Santa Anita, is certified by NAMACAFE as grown completely carbon neutral. The farm is the world’s first carbon neutral coffee farm, and this is the most sustainable coffee we’ve ever come across.

At the time of year where we share the things that matter the most to us, we are so happy to share a coffee that represents everything we are trying to do to create an ever more sustainable coffee industry.

A family farm going back to the 1850s, Santa Anita is at the forefront of sustainability in coffee. Powered by solar and home to over five hectares of conservation area, the farm was certified by the Costa Rican government organisation NAMACAFE. The organisation is the world's first to help the agriculture industry become carbon neutral, an ambitious initiative that has led to the first carbon neutral certification for coffee production.
