Founded by Don Gregorio Zamora, now four generations later the Finca Rabanales farm is run by siblings from the same family: Rafael, who takes care of the technical growing, and Maria Elena, who handles quality control and cupping. Together they have kept the family’s vision for creating delicious, unique coffee alive.

A testament to this is the massive diversity of 14 different cultivars on the farm, where they can learn and develop new skills in production. This dedication is also seen in the many studies they run with new natural coffee mutations, innovative fertiliser techniques and experimental plots all tested on the farm.

Finca Rabanales is one of the only farms within the city limits of Guatemala City, in the region of Fraijanes. Although an ever-more urbanised region, it’s an ideal place to grow coffee. With generous rainfall, high humidity, intermittent sunlight and rich volcanic soil, the land creates the best circumstances for delicious coffee to grow.

Not far from Antigua, this coffee shares a lot of the signature notes of the region, with round honey-like sweetness and a calm fruitiness that makes it both an accessible cup, with subtle complexities to explore.
