Renowned Guji coffee producer Ture Waji partners with dedicated smallholder farmers in Bookkisa village to craft exceptional, sustainable coffee. Bookkisa's high altitude of 2,000 metres above sea level, combined with an extended washed fermentation process, imparts unique fruit characteristics not often found in Ethiopian coffee today. Expect classic floral and citrus notes, alongside darker fruit flavours reminiscent of mulberries.
Sookoo Coffee's commitment to partnership and innovation extends to supporting farmers and offering diverse, exceptional coffees through washed coffee production. They prioritise environmental responsibility through eco-friendly practices and sustainable farming partnerships. They also emphasise farmer education and support, providing pre-harvest loans and offering premium prices for the highest-quality cherries.
We don’t label our coffee as espresso or filter. Instead, for each coffee we create a unique roasting profile, designed to bring out the best flavours from its origin, farm and milling method. That’s why, instead, we label our coffee based on the experience it brings to the cup.
